opportunities to arrange different extra-curricular activities. GIK
student body has the honor of arranging different national and
international competitions. American Institute of Aeronautics and
Astronautics (AIAA) GIKI Chapter is also a well established student
body that has organized different workshops and competitions in the
field of aeronautics and astronautics.
We are pleased to inform you that
GIKI held the 2nd National Design, Build and Fly
Contest (DBFC-II) in 2007; after the success of the 1st
Design, Build and Fly Contest which was held in GIKI on 29th April
2006. DBFC is a nationwide contest, organized by the GIKI Student

in collaboration with STEM Careers Project. In the first contest,
from all over Pakistan 08 teams participated including 6 in Engine
Powered category and 2 in the Electric Powered category.
AIAA GIKI Chapter and GIK Institute
through the STEM Careers Project and HEC invite undergraduate
students to participate in the 2nd National Design, Build &
Fly Contest. The contest provide a real world aircraft

opportunity to validate their analytic studies.
Student teams design, fabricate,
and demonstrate the flight capabilities of an unmanned
electric/engine powered, radio controlled aircraft that can best
meet the specified mission profile. The goal is to make a balanced
design that possess good flight handling qualities and must be
